Mary McAndrews’ Top Ten Facial Tips!

DSC_1012 - CopyPumpkin year round.

The holidays have passed by and now that you’ve eaten all the pumpkin pie you can take, you can look for the health benefits of pumpkin without the calories.  Did you know that the enzymes in pumpkin are a great skin surfacer. Try Glo Therapeutics pumpkin enzyme facial to brighten and restore for the New Year!

Why Vitamin E?

About 7 days after we consume Vitamin E, it is secreted

onto the skins surface through sebum, an oily substance that coats the outer layer of the skin to help protect us from environmental damage and UV radiation.  So eat up almonds, spinich, bell peppers, asparagus, brocolli and brussell sprouts.  And apply our amazing Seline E cream by Cellex-C skincare.

What does Lasting Looks see in Vitamin C?

Vitamin C is essential for healthy collagen, a protein necessary for healthy skin. Vitamin C deficiency causes rough dry skin. Diets high in vitamin C have better skin appearance and fewer wrinkles, improved healing and scar formation.  Try our Cellex-C 17% skin tightening cream and see the change begin.

Be Tropical:

Coconut water is 3 times more hydrating then regular water/8 ounce glass and contains twice as much potassium as 2 bananas.

Drink more water.

Water helps flush toxin from your body to keep you healthy.  Staying hydrated can help you lose weight while also improving your skin, joints, hair, nails, muscles, and heart.  The American Medical Associations says half your body weight in ounces of water per day.

Treat….don’t touch!

Touching your skin throughout the day only adds bacteria to an already inflamed area. Instead treat with benzoyl peroxide for tough breakouts and tea tree for the more mild of sorts.

Clean your makeup brushes

Clean your makeup bushes at least once a week to help prevent breakouts and for smoother makeup application. Always clean bushes in a small bowl with some antibacterial liquid soap, rinse till water runs clear and always shake and lie flat to dry.

Wash Away before you Dream Away

Always wash your face before you go to bed to take the day off and remove any of the days impurities and prevent from getting clogged. And always remember to get plenty of beauty rest!

Apply sunscreen daily.

Unfortunately our ozone layer is not what it was in the 50’s so we need liberal amounts of sunscreen daily. But take a break every 7 days or so to soak up a few rays… it’s a good source of vitamin D and helps boost your mental state and the way you feel.

Sea Salt anyone?

Use a sea salt scrub at least once a week to help stimulate the lymphatic system to release and flush out toxins.
