Healthy Skin Checklist

Lasting Looks skincare in Sarasota

November is Healthy Skin Awareness Month and the perfect time to start thinking about healthy skincare. To support you in having healthy skin, Mary McAndrews, licensed oncology esthetician and founder of Lasting Looks of Sarasota, has created a checklist of her top 4 tips to keep your skin looking healthy!

1. Check your skin daily

Look for unusual shapes and textures of moles.  Take note if they are evolving.

2. Hydrate

Hydrated skin functions better.  Your skin’s ability to absorb nutrients and purge toxins increases when it’s hydrated. Try adding Cellex-C Hydra 5 B Complex to your skincare routine, which is packed with hyaluronic acid to bind water to your skin.

3. Use Vitamin C Daily

Vitamin C is packed full of antioxidants to help you fight free radicals in the air. It also helps to increase collagen production and lessen dilation in your blood vessels. Adding Vitamin C to your skincare regimen, especially in the fall and winter seasons, will encourage a firm, youthful, elastic quality in your skin. We recommend adding either our Cellex C High-Potency Serum or Cellex C Advanced-C Serum.

4. Apply Sunscreen all year long!

Applying sunscreen every day will help to fight UV Rays, reduce your chances of skin cancer, reduce your chances of sunburn, prevent skin discoloration, & prevent signs of aging. When choosing your sunscreen, be careful to look out for Oxybenzone. Oxybenzone is a powerful carcinogen that is toxic and should be avoided. We recommend using Suntegrity, an all-vegan chemical-free zinc oxide sunscreen, for all-day protection.
