Happy Nutrition Month

You may be like many people out there that started the New Year with a new gym routine or healthy diet plan, but are you eating right for your skin type? Here at Lasting Looks of Sarasota, we begin each facial by educating you on healthy foods that promote healthy skin. Whether you’re dry, oily, acne-prone, or sensitive we have food suggestions for skin health that will not only anti-age your skin but leave it glowing and radiant.

Here are some of our favorites: Kiwi- Packed with vitamin C which is powerful in fighting off free radicals in the body and on the skin. Tomatoes-Lycopene is what gives tomatoes their red color but it is also helpful in fighting off the damaging rays of the sun and your skin’s response to the sun. Best when cooked to release the lycopene from the tomato. Dark Berries-Resveratrol and vitamin C found in blueberries and blackberries boosts the immune system, fights inflammation in the entire body and skin, and reduces the risk of heart disease. Fish-High in protein, omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin D, B12, and lots of minerals including zinc, selenium, iron, magnesium, and potassium.

All good for your skin and overall health and easy to digest. Green leafy vegetables-Contains lots of antioxidants and minerals. Packed with water for the skin.
